    Abstract

Pharmacists’ role during Covid-19 pandemic is important in order to prevent and reduce the transmission rate. Pharmacist need to have good level of knowledge to ensure the role. This study aims to determine the level of pharmacists’ knowledge regarding Covid-19 and related factors. This is an observational study with cross-sectional approach. A questionnaire regarding Covid-19 was distributed to webinar participants in December 2021. The questionnaire is consisted of demographic questions and 15 Covid-19 knowledge questions. A total of 333 pharmacists responded, consisting of 32.4% community pharmacists, 33.9% hospital pharmacists, 24.0% clinical pharmacists, and 9.6% public health center pharmacists. Pharmacists have good knowledge of the causative virus (92%), symptoms (95.3%), supporting examinations (90.2%), therapy (95.8%), and prevention of Covid-19 transmission (94.4%) . Pharmacists' knowledge that needs to be improved is regarding vaccine storage (69.4%) and antibiotic use (56.1%). Semarang City pharmacists have good knowledge about Covid-19. Pharmacist knowledge was related to workplace (p<0.001) and length of work (p<0.001).

    Abstract

A simple, cost-effective, and validated reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method is crucial for accurately monitoring trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole therapy. However, conventional HPLC methods often rely on buffered mobile phases and additives, which can lead to column blockage and shorten column lifespan. To address this issue, we developed and validated a reversed-phase HPLC method with a photodiode array (PDA) detector, using a buffer-free and additive-free mobile phase with gradient elution. Sample preparation was performed using organic solvent-based deproteinization to minimize matrix effects. Chromatographic separation was performed on a ZORBAX Eclipse Plus C18 column (250 × 4.6 mm, 5 µm) using a mobile phase of acetic acid (pH 2.3), methanol, and acetonitrile at a flow rate of 1 mL/min. Detection was carried out at 270 nm with a total run time of 17 minutes. The analytical method exhibited linearity, precision, and accuracy, with adequate sensitivity for the analytes of interest. Stability testing yielded favorable results under various storage conditions, including the autosampler, freeze-thaw cycles, and long-term storage. However, the trimethoprim stock solution was only stable for two days and must be freshly prepared. Full validation was conducted in accordance with FDA and ICH bioanalytical guidelines, confirming its suitability for clinical application.

    Abstract

    Abstract

Abstract: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that can affect someone who is entering old age. Diabetes mellitus is characterized by excess fasting blood sugar values (≥126mg/dl) and HbA1C values ≥7%. A total of 147,734 cases of diabetes mellitus were found in Semarang city health centers. Medication adherence may be one of the factors in such high cases. With high medication adherence in elderly patients, it is expected that appropriate clinical outcomes will be achieved. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between sociodemographics and compliance with the use of diabetes mellitus drugs in elderly patients. This study is an analytical observational study conducted with a cross section study approach. This study was conducted at Halmahera Health Center and Gayamsari Health Center. This study used the chi square test which obtained a p value <0.05 which concluded that there was a relationship between sociodemographics and compliance with the use of diabetes mellitus drugs in elderly patients. This study can be concluded that there is a relationship between sociodemographics and compliance with the use of diabetes mellitus drugs in elderly patients

    Abstract

Tuberculosis remains a leading cause of global mortality and morbidity. Current TB elimination programs have not yet met their targets. Drug resistance poses a significant challenge, necessitating effective alternative treatments for drug-resistant TB patients. Bedaquiline and Linezolid are primary drugs (Category A) used to combat drug-resistant TB. However, they come with side effects and toxicity, have narrow therapeutic window, and exhibit pharmacokinetic variability. Therefore, therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) is recommended to achieve desired treatment outcomes and prevent or minimize potential side effects or toxicity. The objective of this study is to assess the urgency of TDM implementation to address these issues. This research is a literature review involving the synthesis of data from six studies that met inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data sources include Science Direct, PubMed, and Nature. The results indicate that Bedaquiline and Linezolid exhibit pharmacokinetic variability and the occurrence of side effects. Therefore, TDM is recommended for Bedaquiline and Linezolid to achieve desired therapeutic effects and avoid the onset of side effects or toxicity

    Abstract

Abstract: Acute wounds require quick and appropriate treatment to prevent complications such as infection and scar tissue formation. This study aims to develop and optimize an ointment formula based on Graptophyllum pictum L. Griff wungu leaf extract and klanceng honey, which is intended to prepare for the healing of acute wounds. Graptophyllum pictum L Griff leaves are known to have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, while klanceng honey is famous for its ability to accelerate tissue regeneration. The research process included the determination of Graptophyllum pictum L Griff leaves to ensure the authenticity of the ingredients, extraction using the maceration method with 96% ethanol and the manufacture of Graptophyllum pictum L Griff leaves ointment with concentrations of F1 10%, F2 7.5% and F3 5%. Evaluation of physical properties through a series of preparation tests to assess organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, dispersibility, adhesion, and stability. The optimization of the ointment preparation of the combination of Graptophyllum pictum L Griff leaves and klanceng honey showed that the ointment met all quality criteria as an ointment preparation intended for acute wounds, the preparation also had excellent stability. This research is expected to be the basis for the development of natural products for the treatment of acute wounds that are more effective, and safe to use.
